As we approach the close of another year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible progress we’ve made over the past six months and to thank each of you for your dedication, resilience, and shared vision for community palliative care.
The past half-year has seen us strengthen our voice in advocating for increased government funding in the palliative care sector. Through strategic meetings, collaborative submissions, and unified advocacy efforts, we have worked tirelessly to ensure policymakers understand the urgent need for sustained investment in community palliative care.
These efforts are beginning to bear fruit, with several encouraging signs of recognition from key government stakeholders. Our goal remains clear, to secure the funding and support required to ensure every person in our community has access to quality palliative care,
wherever they choose to receive it.
Tomorrow’s Care Starts Today – The PCV Campaign
As a current Board Director at Palliative Care Victoria, I’m proud to share that our campaign, Tomorrow’s Care Starts Today, has gained strong momentum. With its focus on innovation, prevention, and the empowerment of care providers, this initiative is inspiring meaningful change across the sector.
The campaign highlights a simple truth: investing in today’s care workforce and infrastructure is the surest way to secure tomorrow’s health outcomes. Strategically aligned with the upcoming State Government Election in November 2026, this campaign positions palliative care as a central part of the broader health conversation.
I want to personally thank everyone who has contributed through local engagement, fundraising events, or advocacy on behalf of Peninsula Home Hospice. Together, we are shaping the future of palliative care.
Supporting Our Community to Live Well and Die Well
At the heart of everything we do is our unwavering commitment to helping people live well and die well in the place of their choosing. Our team continues to provide compassionate, person-centred care that honours dignity, comfort, and connection at every stage of life.
Through our community-based approach, we are not only providing expert clinical support but also fostering hope, understanding, and belonging for clients and families navigating end-of-life care. This work remains the true measure of our success and purpose.
Looking Ahead
As we move into the new year, our priorities remain clear: to continue advocating for sustainable funding, to strengthen partnerships across the health and community sectors, and to ensure that quality palliative care is accessible to all who need it. Together, we will continue to lead with compassion, integrity, and purpose.
