“Giving is not just about making a donation. It’s about making a difference”
Kathy Calvin, President and Chief Executive Officer of the United Nations Foundation
As a not-for-profit community organisation, we rely on the generosity of our local community to support those living at home with a life limiting illness, to live, die and grieve well.
The kindness and generosity of individuals, businesses, volunteers, trusts and foundations is essential in funding the work of PHH and there are many ways you can be involved and show your support.
As PHH has deductible gift recipient (DGR) status, all donations over $2 are tax deductible and you can donate right now through our My cause donation portal by clicking on the “Donate Now” button below. Alternatively, you can telephone our office (Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:00 pm) on (03) 5973 2400 and speak to a staff member who can take your credit card donation over the phone. If you prefer, you can call to our office during working hours and make a cash or cheque donation in person.
What are we raising funds for in 2024
We need more Syringe Drivers
A syringe driver is a small battery-powered pump. It delivers a steady stream of medication through a small plastic tube under your skin. We use them for end-of-life care.
Overnight Nursing Care
overnight nursing care, giving carers a much needed break. Overnight nursing care helps to reduce carer fatigue. It costs approximately $1,500 per night per client.
Client Support Fund
Helps to support clients who may be experiencing financial hardship due to not being able to work because of their illness. We may be able to help with purchasing expensive medications that may not be on the PBS, and assist with everyday living expenses.
PHH is a Registered Charity
( 12 Month Period )
Pledge Supporter
By becoming a PHH Pledge Supporter, you can make an ongoing difference to the lives who are living with a life limiting illness. You can pledge a regular monthly, quarterly, yearly or once-off donation and PHH will do the rest. No more forms, cheques, postage.
More and more people are also choosing to ask friends and family to make a donation to PHH in lieu of a gift for their birthday, anniversary, Christmas or other celebrations.
The choice of amount is yours and will be charged directly to your credit card at the nominated intervals – simple and easy and you will be issued your total pledge amount donated at the end of each financial year.
Your pledge can be as short term or permanent as you wish and can be cancelled or changed at any time by notifying PHH in writing.
In Memory Donations
Supporters, or their families, sometimes chose to help PHH by requesting that donations be made to the charity at their funeral, in lieu of flowers. We can provide In Memory envelopes or collection cans if required or donations can be made online.
Bequests
A bequest is a gift left in a Will (be it money, shares, property or other valuable items). It is an investment in the future, in the wellbeing and quality of life for others who come after us, a truly lasting legacy.
While family and friends should rightly come first, the addition of a gift in your Will to a cause you are passionate about means you can touch many lives. Your gift, no matter how large or small, will make a difference.
PHH thanks and honours the individuals and families who have left bequests to PHH, knowing that this special gift will have significant impact into the future by allowing us to plan services and programs in advance. PHH advise you seek professional legal advice to confirm the correct expression of intent in any new or existing Wills.
I give, devise and bequeath unto Peninsula Home Hospice for its general purposes, (a specified sum), or (specified items), or (the residue of my Estate) free of all duties, and the receipt of the Director or other authorised office of the time being shall be a complete and sufficient discharge for the executor(s).
Regular Giving
By choosing to give a regular monthly donation, you will be helping us to plan ahead and make long-term improvements for our clients and their families. A regular gift allows us to plan for the future because we know, day in day out, that we will have a steady income stream that we can rely upon.
Any amount helps our work enormously – even the smallest amount. A gift of just $10 a month (that’s less than 0.35 cents per day) will make a vital difference to the hundreds of clients Peninsula Home Hospice supports each year. The more you can give, the more we can help. It’s not so much about the amount of the gift that is important to us, it’s the regularity. Thank you for supporting PHH.
