Next week marks the end of five and a half incredible years as we farewell Janet Phillips, our CEO, on her retirement from Peninsula Home Hospice.
From the very beginning, Janet brought people together, building a culture grounded in trust, collaboration, and genuine care – she introduced our daily multidisciplinary team meetings bringing both the nursing and allied health teams together and implemented after hours support for our clients, strengthening connection and continuity of care.
Under her leadership, PHH has grown into a strong, connected, and high-performing organisation, united by a shared commitment to delivering the very best for our clients and their families.
A passionate advocate for our service, Janet has worked tirelessly at both local and federal government levels to strengthen recognition, support, and much needed funding for community-based palliative care.
Janet’s impact extends well beyond PHH; supporting education pathways as an Adjunct Professor at Monash University and facilitating student placements through Chisholm and PEPA. Janet also established and led a General Practitioner Special Interest Group, creating a valued forum for shared learning and peer support and greater understanding of the challenges of community palliative care. Janet continues to contribute to the future of palliative care as a Director, Palliative Care Victoria.
Janet’s leadership is deeply values-driven and she has always led with compassion, integrity, and purpose. As Janet steps into this well-earned retirement, please join us as we wish her every happiness for her next chapter.
Working alongside Janet for the past four years, Julie Murphy, General Manager – Clinical Services, is well positioned to step into the CEO role in the interim until our newly appointed CEO commences in June.
